Just took my xc90 in for the November update
Thought I'd get CarPlay added, expecting a £200 ($300) charge,
Dealer called to say cost was £375 ($570), I told them not to bother!!

That charge did not include labour, it was the charge Volvo make to the dealer
This seems a little excessive to me

Anyone had CP fitted by dealer in Europe and what was their charge, since at this price
Seems not worth it

The UK price list shows CarPlay as a £300 option when buying new. Options fitted aftermarket by the dealer can often cost more than when selected during new car build, but in this case I'd have expected the same price; i.e. £300 fully fitted.

Price in Luxembourg, quote from dealership, - "this is an option which costs around 350 euros.(I would need to confirm this price with your sales person if you were interested in)"

Factory fit I agree, and in that you get the 240v power outlet also fitted.
That power outlet is a £100 option by itself.
But £375 for this dealer fit seems extreme, for the software only.

In other words the dealer is just taking on another 75 pounds of pure additional profit because he figures he can...

Indeed, but not exclusive to Volvo. In my Range Rover, there is an Auxilary diesel heater option, which can be "installed" for £1500. In practice it is 5mins on the laptop to activate the feature, as all the components are fitted as standard in every car.
