1. Anyone know a source of discounted wiper blades for our XCs? $50 + a pair seems a bit steep.
2. Power Steering. Had driven for an hour or so, stopping several times and shutting down each time. Then once upon starting the power steering acted like the belt was slipping or the fluid level was low. Intermittent assist when turning and the feeling of something not right. At the next shut down checked the fluid level and belt and everything was fine. Belt was not glazed or slipping, certainly no belt noise. The issue was continous during the period from the start up to the next shut down, about 1/2 hour. Car was stopped for about a half hour and upon starting the following time the problem was gone and has remained gone ever since. The car is a V8 and I know the V8s have speed sensitive power steering, but this is a new one. Like i said, it's only hppened once. Any ideas? I'd like to know what to look for if it happens again.

Go to Wal-Mart; they sell Rain-X Latitude blades for $17.99 each.

Thanks for posting the question about the wiper blades. I've been looking and have quotes from $38US when I was there in the spring for just the drivers side and dealers here in Canada only sell them in pairs !
I've tried Walmart and lots of regular parts suppliers. I think it was in 2006 that Volvo found it necessary to go to some non standard pinch clip style of mount. Like the hook type on 99% of every other vehicle wasn't good enough.

Re: (cdnx90)

I had the same problem on my 07 XC90. I purchased wiper blades at a auto discount store, but could not figure out how to put them on.
The Volvo wiper arm has cover or something over where you normally just snap in the new wiper blade.
Has anyone else had these problems?

Re: (240_XC90)

What is being said in replies is to buy the blade at a el-cheapo place, remove the rubber blade proper from the metal thing-a-ma-jig and install it in the existing Volvo thing-a-ma-jig. Yes/No? A little fiddling, but certainly doable.
Guess I was looking for a snap fit total replacement.

Re: (1sttimevolvo)

Sorry but Ford, Chevy won't do it. Volvo's connection to the wiper arm is unique. Never seen one like it before. Guess it's part of their "marketing plan" to keep the customer buying their ultra expensive wiper blades.

Re: (JimJa43)

I can't recall from where I bought, but I've bought replacement driver side wiper that snapped right in to the existing arm. The only thing I had to do is put the existing air dam from the previous blade onto the new one.
I bought both for around $35 total.
I'll check and see if I can locate the purchase info this evening.
