so my speedometer is all over the place and has been for a year. I'm not really sure if I'm loosing power but I might be when it happens. It's only for a short second or two and then its back to the right place. I have no ideas for what could be happening. 1990 245. Please help.

got the same problem, if im doing 40 the needle seems 2 jump from 40 down 2 30 n back again. now if my turn signals or 4 ways are on it jumps from what speed im doing to zero n back again. the spedo seems to be fairly accurate cuz my gps tells me how fast im going and the speedo is about the same or no more then 3 mph difference from the gps

Best to sort out bouncy needles quickly. Delaying can lead to be needle-less. In my 76 245, the needle bounced so hard on the stop peg that it snapped off.

Agree with FCP poster. Pull the connectors from behind the instrument cluster and spray with electrical contact cleaner. Then put a dab of dielectric grease on the terminals. That fixed my twitching speedo.
