Hello all i may be purchasing a 1969 164, it may need new carbs. It has the strombergs that came with it and i was thinking i may just replace them with a good pair of twin SU hs6 carbs from a b18, will these be a bolt on swap? any gains in performance?

You'd *lose* performance. The B30's 2 extra cylinders will want way more air than the HS6's can provide. If you can adapt HS8's from a Jag, then maybe, but you'll probably have to modify the manifold, heavily.

ok what are other carb that are bolt on swap for the b30 than, i am really concerned about reliability and as it is hard to come by old strombergs. I dont want to spend an arm or a leg so are there any carbs that are a bolt in swap?
