Re: (Cjones16)

The fluid on the inlet pipe is the anti corrosion spray that was applied before the winter. I just did not wipe it off properly. I am more interested in the oil leak that is visible on the 3rd picture. Is that turbo return line?

I see no cracks. That is the way '04 mounts look, open front and back, connected top and bottom.
Then again, it's hard to see cracks top and bottom in this pic.

Re: Turbo leak? (Denis)

The second picture shows your waste gate control line and the fresh air return (IIRC) both look to be connected correctly. The waste gate line is connected to the yellow mark on your tcv. You might just make sure that is connected properly too. The red line is under the turbo and can't be seen (or easily accessed).
The third picture shows some sort of fluid,is it oil? It's also a little hard to tell where exactly we are looking. Oh wait, I get the picture now...but I still don't know what it the fluid is. Can you clean it up, drive it, and see if it is constant? Does it drip under the car?
Decaf knows all, I defer to him on such matters.

It definitely looks like oil but it is hard to tell what we're looking at.
How did you come across this? is there something dripping under the car or are you losing oil?

Re: Turbo leak? (T5 for Life)

I agree, it's hard to tell where that is. It looks like it might be the CBV? I've seen oil stains on my turbo, and been told a little is normal. It's hard to tell how much oil you have there. Class 1 leak (wet, no drips forming)?

Re: Turbo leak? (Filson)

That's part of PCV system. The oil you see is from the blowby. Can't really see from the pic, but it looks like you might be missing a clamp. You prolly got a vacuum leak as well.
Here's a better pic:

that's also the popular spot to install a catch can.

Re: Turbo leak? (rushin_max)

Yes, you are correct it is the PCV system. I did some research and figured out that the hose that is leaking oil is leading to the flame trap.
I came across the leak while changing the oil and noticed an oily spot on the bottom of my angle gear. I traced it all the way to this hose connection.
Also, good eye volvosince16. I checked the mount and there is a large crack.
I think I know what I will be doing this weekend.
Thank you all.

Re: Turbo leak? (Denis)

If you're going to replace your mount and want to go with the newer style square mount, I have a brand new one that has never been installed that you could have for $50 CDN.
Cheers,
J

Re: Turbo leak? (Denis)

I suggest you stay with the round mount as you can then use aftermarket bushings. They are better...IMO. I use IPD's but there are several for the round mount, none for the square.
