Just curious if anyone here knows of anyone running this kit or something similar.

AWD compatible?
Even if you could fit that thing... would you want to? You'd be right up against the block limitations of the engine (300 at the crank for guaranteed long term reliability, 330bhp if you have a good block) and a ported and enhanced regular turbo would get better spool and responsiveness without that much of a loss at the higher end ?

Apparently the manifolds on that kit are quite poor.

This is second hand information, but from a good source.

I've talked to a couple distributors of the ATP Garrett kits. They all say you'd have to get your own AWD downpipe fabbed up. When I asked how much the kit was without the included DP it was only like $100 less. :(

Someday, my car will be a force to be reckoned with.

^ haha, yeah...my thoughts exactly. I'm really not satisfied with the power that I'm currently making after the mods I've just done. Not sure if it's my tune or what...but it's pretty much known that our turbos aren't gonna make any real impressive power anyway.

.... Wait for it..... :D

The atpturbo C30 project car was rockin 400whp as a daily driver for 30K miles, the ATP kit is solid and works just fine just not AWD compatible due to the DP.

Would be easy to have someone fab one up though, just sucks they arent willing to come down on the price more than 100$.

Might be worth holding out for the RS turbo setups, sounds like a few people are pretty close to getting something finished and worked out. Should make good power with stock drivability.

our engines can make more power, with a tune and a couple of simple mods like intake and cat back exhaust you can make 300hp at the crank

Do you think the RS kit will be better priced than $3250 ATP kit?

And does it come with a tune or is that more outta pocket bc right now im pretty much ready to buy it.

Im looking at the Elevate tune right now at 1000+ (if enough ppl buy, if not could be more) then FMIC,Exhaust and Install of all Plus DP. Im easily at 3k

The rs should be cheaper, with either kit you would still need a tune, I know autotech has a tune for the rs turbo but not sure for atp's kit

K16 RS turbo costs around $2500 (-UK VAT) + shipment. You need to have 3" DP with max 200CPI cat (100CPI is better to keep EGT low) + catback, bigger IC, 550cc injectors and Elevate intake pipe (or similar, as stock intake pipe will hardly fit). And of course the tune, but for that probably GB can be organised.

So basically were looking around 5K with everything

Probably closer to 6K, depends on how much you choose to spend on DP and catback - but you are looking to close to 400HP engine with a stock alike installation, similar to tuned Foucs RS cars.

I'm sure Peter (Autotech) can make good tune for ATP kit pretty quickly (he already did tunes for GT3071R on our T5 engines), but somebody has to go through it otherwise we will always speak about that one mysterious ATP C30 demo car that can only be seen on 1 Youtube video doing a 402m run.

There are cheaper alternatives to good power coming, just have to be a bit patient.
In last 6 years turbo upgrades on T5 engines were so rare that even a mighty Google has trouble locating them on the Net, and now, when T5 engine will soon face end-of-production announcement, you expect "cheaper alternatives to good power". You are very optimistic person Kyle, aren't you? :)

Demand for new turbos isnt going to go up until most people are out of warranty. Its starting to get around that time so hopefully with the higher demand there will be some supply
I don't think so - there are many stage 1-3 tunes which also void warranty.

ATP kit was offered without proper tune and no other turbo kit exists. The problem is in tune, because turbo upgrades MUST be custom (fine) tuned on the dyno (preferably with boost measured as well), and there are only few tuners in Sweden who can do it. Guys from RICA can maybe do it but it's much easier for them to sell stage 1-3 tunes then to loose time with custom tune for the turbo upgrade for which they cannot charge much more money. Not to mention difficulties to organise a tuner to be stand by while you are on dyno rollers - and different time zones doesn't help either.

In my opinion that's the reason why there are so few turbo upgrades outside of Sweden.

You can always go back to the stock tune if youre bringing your car in for warranty
In Europe even the use of K&N panel filter can void the warranty, not to mention other bolt-on mods that are needed for Stage 2 and 3. Not too meny people have Stage 1 mod (ECU software only) without ANY other mod - don't you agree? :)

Youre probably right. But is there really that much of a demand for a bigger turbo? I just figure people with their 2008-2010 cars dont really want to mess with it yet. Id like to see how many people have tunes and CAI and DP's that are still under warranty (or could be)
