I recently purchased a 99 V70 AWD with only 52000 miles. It is a one owner car and has every available option. I just had it to the dealer for a oil-filter change and they suggested the work be done at the 65000 mile scheduled maintinance. The price I was quoted was $600.00 . It sounded a bit much or should I expect more of the same from the dealer? The car runs great and I intend to keep it for a long time.

Re: Tune up - brake line flush - pollen filter replacement at 65000 miles ? (chuck k)

Depends on what all the 65K service entails. If it includes the timing belt it might be worth it. I think Volvo says 90K on those, but read up on the 65K service and it might be worth $600. Say no if it's just routine checks and no real replacements.

105K miles on the TB replacement from '99 on. I doubt it is anything special. Actually, there isn't even a 65K service officially, although there is a 60K service, which is the somewhat "major" one because they replace the serpentine (service) belt and all the filters and inspect a bunch of stuff. They wont even drain and fill your coolant and brake fluid, although they're suppose to change out the spark plugs and do some other "checks."
Click here for the Volvo recommended maintenance: http://new.volvocars.com/owner....html
