I got inspired by the ocean race pics next to the sonic blue. I found the ocean race blue trim piece (part # 30754260) that I think will work. It's $81.25. As I stated, circuit city already replaced mine once and I'm wondering if it's pretty easy to pop out and replace on my own or if I should stop by circuit city and ask them (nicely) to do this for me.

Re: Trim piece around radio...swap aluminum for blue (soledoc)

I'd say if you are at all handy, do it yourself. It's very easy. Shouldn't take more than 1/2 hour.

DIY! It's not that hard, just takes a few steps to do it. It's pretty straightforward actually.

from the photos, i think that ocean race interior trim piece is the wrong color blue. you could just pull off your stock part and paint it the perfect color...if you want a blue interior.

A little contrast might look good. I don't think I want to paint it sonic blue. I don't think there is a perfect blue to match the R interior.
Needsdecaf is going to fax me some instructions. I wonder what tools I might need.

A bone tool and some hex/torx wrenches.
It may seem intimidating if you don't like playing around with these kinds of things usually, but it's actually very easy.
-Eric

Actually, even though the color may be off from the dials, it might be deep enough to be a nice accent to the nordkap leather and darker blue carpets. Hope it works out!

if you have nordkap..yeah it might look alright. i'd have to see it.
i've got gobi...so on MY car it would look out of place....
if you like it - go for it. you can always take it out if you decide you don't like it.

Re: (23109VC)

I'm definitely going to do it. I'm going to the dealer on Friday for my V70R alignment and a/c recharge and I'll order it then. Next Wednesday I'll go in for the first oil change for the S60R at around 2200 miles and the trim piece should be in then and I'll see if they can install it or I'll try myself. I think it'll look sweet. the more blue the better
