Can anyone tell me if Goteborg must be your first stop on your itinerary with the OSD program? We are trying to fit in a 10 day Baltic cruise in conjunction with picking up a C70 next June. Our current plan is to pick the car up first and then take the cruise. Given the Cruise departure dates, factory operating days of the week, and limitation on vacation days we would be limited to having the car only for three full days to enjoy a drive through Norway. If the process could be reversed, we could squeeze in a couple of extra days of enjoying our car in Sweden and Norway. Is there anyway to plan ahead for returning the car on a specific date so it would be on a ship within a few days, rather than weeks.

No, it does not. They would like you to have it as your first stop but it is not a prerequisite.

Yannis has answered your first question correctly.

In regards to your second question, no there isn't really a way to plan the drop off of your car to expedite the shipment of it back to the US. Once your car has been dropped off, it's is up to the ship schedules, weather and cargo as to the time it will take for your new Volvo to get to America. Keep in mind that there may be a variety of vehicles on the ship from various ports in Europe.
