I have a Volvo S60 2.5T 156,000 miles. A message appeared saying “transmission service required “ and upon checking it seems that the transmission clutch is slipping. How do you fix that…is that something I could fix myself (DIY). I changed the transmission oil a year ago. Do I need to change it again? Thanks for any advice.

There are maybe 6 clutches in your transmission - you would want to replace all of them - that means a transmission overhaul

Now it is possible your valve body is causing the problem -

And some would consider it a DIY project - valve bodies yes, but not many for a transmission overhaul

The prior P2 XC70 I had, the dealer wanted $9k for that service. I bought the car cheap because of that and fixed it with fluid service. Car ran like a dream afterwards. So a code or warning light means nothing, really. Your post is vague, what are you experiencing and what is the OBDII code?

If you have a manual transmission, then you have "a clutch." if you have an automatic, you have a lot of clutches and need to clarify.

@hoonk was right, "There are maybe 6 clutches in your transmission " if you have an auto then you have six clutches and have to clarify things.
