Welcome to Swedespeed, Tony.
Jusy a bit to hot in your part of Texas to be swapping transmissions!?
An '82 240 turbo with carb? Not from the factory unless such was available in Canada or Europe.
For an answer to engine/trans combinations visit
http://billgarland.mcmaster.ca/volvo/volvohome.htm
Good luck!
George Dill
Temple, Texas, USA.

Re: (rockndrifter06)

Clink! Here's to confusion!
It goes like this...
From 1975 (late) through 1993 any 240 manual trans will go into any 240 model (except V6 and diesel).
As each engine model replaced the previous and each transmission model was fitted the connecting pieces changed as did the electronic stuff to run the control systems (late models).
So, with a little work you can fit any 240 manual trans into any 4-cylinder 240 regardless of engine (B21, B23, B230 etc.).
George Dill
