Hi guys, I am planning to do mountainous driving with my 2007 2.5T S60, with a decent load - 1300 lb trailer.

In the summer months, the transmission runs risk of overheating, and we all know that's game over. I am unaware of any auxiliary transmission cooler for the S60.

Has anyone installed one? Is it a cheaper job, if I get the indy shop to do it?

Thanks.

The XC90 5 and 6 cyl turbo had them. It appraises to be a fairly strait forward install with little customization. Large bar and plate, retains factory push lock/o ring style connectors.

I'd do a full transmission flush and reset of the computer too. The computer will expect the fluid to be old, and once you drain it, I'd flush it fully and then start all fresh with the computer as that will help with heat and shifting.

I actually have an OEM XC90 trans cooler I could sell you that I had bought initially on eBay to install onto my S60, and didn't ended up using. I don't currently find any for sale on there, so it's somewhat hard to come by short of sourcing one from a junk yard and at that the car can't have front end damage that would break the cooler unit. The advantage of this cooler is that you can retain the stock cooler hose fitting ends but you'll probably need to hack up your hoses to fit it, or source used trans cooler hoses. In any event, let me know if you're interested.
