Didn't find much useful on the search side, but I'm guessing many of you guys have trailered your 'R'. Am moving to Cleveland at the end of May, and figured I would trailer the car rather than tow or drive it. I'm guessing that as along as the car is unlocked (alarm disarmed) while I'm driving the truck, I won't have any worries with the alarm going off? Don't know too much about this alarm, but figured I could get some input. Thanx!

Maybe his mom is very sick and he is going to take care of her.
Or maybe he inherited a bajillion acres of land and is going there to make a personal race track for the R and his friends and kmagnuss is not invited.
Otherwise I'm hard pressed as well on why anyone would go there.

OK cool, guess it won't be an issue.

Heading there since my new soon-to-be-wife lives there and my employer also has a hub at Hopkins Int'l. Not a big deal though.

Towed the car for about 2 hours on a non-enclosed trailer, with the car lock and didn't have the alarm go off at all.

you can get either from United Rentals or Uhual

I recomend the one from United Rentals

US Spec R's did not have motion detecting alarm schemes.

I left mine unlocked while I was driving the truck for my move. Just remember to lock it when you go inside somewhere. Also, remember to open and close a door after you unlock it so it doesn't auto lock the doors after 2 minutes.

That's what I wasn't sure of.

I'm sure you already know, but make sure you have some sort of way to keep the car from moving side to side on the trailer during transport. We trailered my wife's Jetta from LA to KC. During the trip the front end had migrated ever so slightly and the wheel started to rub on the trailer's railing, ruining the finish on the wheel. We had the thing tied down pretty tight, but over a long road trip eventually the bumps took their toll. So we added a wood block between the rubber of the tire and the rail and never had the problem again.

IMO Mod the trailer with barbed wire, sand bags, wheel scythes, rocket launchers and massive PA system. Volvo is all about safety, after all!

Will be just north of the airport by a couple miles. Looking forward to less traffic and smoother roads!
