I went down to Town Fair Tire today to get my summer rims and Yokohama tires put back on. The wear on the Yoko's was uneven and bumpy probably as a result of aggressive driving and the camber on this vehicle.
I think I remember a post where Oldman says these tires are not good on a highly cambered vehicle.
Anyways, they were worn to the point of being dangerous, and I had bought the extended warranty. So the tire guys offered to give me some new tires for half price. I decided to go with the Toyo Proxes 4 in the 235/45/17 size.
I've driven on them for about 20 minutes tonight and so far they seem good. Does anybody else here have any thoughts or experience with these tires?

Re: Toyo Proxes 4 (jclaib)

I've got quite a number of miles on mine and I've noticed that they don't have the best grip sometimes when it's just a tad bit wet. I think they're definately dry weather tires.

My first impression, from a brief stint of driving, was that they are quiet and not nearly as hard on bumps as the Yoko's.

I'm really loving these Toyos. I went on a nice windy road drive today and then high speed on the way home and they performed very well.
I will definately not miss the Yokohamas. Yes, they perform better when driving extremely aggressively, but that is about 1% of the time. The Toyos handle very well, but don't jar my teeth when hitting potholes, which are everywhere in New England right now.
I'm very happy. I even went with the wider 235 size as compared to the 225 width of the Yokos.
