don't know but I run some big offsets on my autoX tires and even like the increase feedback... thanks for the eye candy.

The steering limiter is mechanical (not software, if that's what you meant by program), as far as I know. I installed Medusas recently and found any other modification unnecessary. I believe that most people on this board who have gone to 18"s have done so without the steering limiter. However, your car may need a software adjustment for the speedo if the overall diameter of your tires changes significantly.
Perhaps you try the new wheels without the limiter, then if you need it for some reason go back and get it done.
There are several threads discussing this, test out the search feature.
Or if you aren't feeling searchy:
http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=59976
Good luck, you'll definitely enjoy your Medusas.

I'm running Medusas, lowered with Heico springs. No steering limiter, no rubbing.

more pics in the modded V50 thread

That V50 looks awesome! I drove one as a courtesy car from the dealer and loved it.
I'm worried about fender gap once I make the swap...my springs are still stock on the Volvo; but I had my Audi A4 lowered with Eibach Sport springs 1.6" and liked how they handled but HATED how they seemed to once in a while completely bottom out (when they shouldn't have). They seemed to "drop" for lack of better term over some bumps like the car was too heavy for them. How are the Heico's? Do they bottom out ever during reasonable driving? I saw IPD had Eibachs for $262.00 but I'm concerned about trying this brand again...

I have the 18" Medea rims without limiters with 225/40 tires and there's no rubbing at all. At full lock, u- turns, etc., everythings fine...

Re: Total Noob here wondering about the 18"s he just purchased (s40turbo585)

I'm not going to have the steering limiter installed. Not happening anytime soon though. Only 2 rims came in with my order. If the dealership can be trusted apparently I have the last two Medusa rims designated to an American dealership sitting in my living room along with 4 Pirelli P Zero Neros from tirerack. Supposedly two more rims are on the way from Canada. Time well tell. Told them when I picked the rims up that I wanted them both installed on one side of the car so at least people on one side of the street would think my car looked good when I drove by.

In case anyone is still looking for Medusa wheels - we have plenty in stock (we have sets of four on eBay) at $145.67 each.
If four are purchased before September 30, '06, you'll get a $200.00 mail-in rebate from Volvo.
John Sharisky

Hey John,
I'm still planning on a set of 4, but my book keeper tells me I can't spend anymore money on cars until September. She's no fun, I tell you.
Al

I got my 4 and then did the rebate, sweet deal on 18" rims that actually have the proper offset for the V50. Was not totally sold on them till I got them on the car, and have had many great comments on how the car looks with the new 18"s and the drop. With the multiple spokes, they look great at speed.

I've been quite happy with them, living in VT with frost heaves and potholes. The car definitely rides tight, but not rough.
