I've heard generally good things about the BSR PPC upgrade, although it's not as specific as say a RICA ECU upgrade it does increase performance a substantial amount by all accounts...

Re: (azza)

Are you using the rica? the specs on that look realy impressive. HArd to beleive it will take power to 300+hp and torque over 400. Do you know if they have any retailers in the US?
Tom

I haven't personally got one, although i'm going to. They come in 4 stages, stage 1 being the ecu retune (around $900), stage 2 involves a new 19t turbo and a "custom tune" (around $3500), then there's stage 3 and 4, but they're really big jobs.
I'm a member of another site where literally about 100 people have had them done, and there's been no complaints from them!
They do have a US representative, i cannot for the life of me remember the URL though!
Azza

The tornado and other things like it are a waste of money...snake oil. If anything, they slow down the air flow.

Re: (MadeInJapan)

Right on. I see the BSR is listed as only 99 and newer. What changes were made to the c70 that it would not work on a 98?

I don't know the exact terminology but i think it's to do with the throttle, i think post 99 cars are called ME7 cars or something, and they have an Electronic Throttle module.... I'm sure someone on here knows more than me!
Azza

I don't know about new type of engine. Many who have to do an engine swap look for a '99 or '00 engine for their '98 70 series cars or even 850's because they are more robust....the difference is the engine management system (ME7 from '99 on compared to Motronic 4.3, 4.4 and even Fenix on '93's) which now utilizes the ETM instead of the wired, mechanical throttle.
