TomkatIII is back home...safe and sound after his 1st checkup. All Recall Work and TSB's were addressed and/or corrected (thanks again for the links and updates, stealth...REALLY helped with the service writer. ).
DRL's are disabled, top is quieter (I think?), PAD Lamp works as it's supposed to. Evidently my VIN # was excluded from the PS Hose Recall. Thanks again guys for your help.
BTW - Volvo Dealer changed my oil and filter at 3500 miles - with Synthetic Oil I provided...so no 'Warranty violation or question'.

Sorry for the multiple posts to different forums - but this forum is way more active than C70 and OSD forums...and drive train/engine, etc. are identical.
TOMKAT III is going to the Volvo doctor this week for his first - and only "free" - 7500 mile Factory Scheduled Maintenance Service.
I changed the oil (Synthetic) and filter at 3500 miles on my own dime.
I'm going to have the DRL's disabled using Volvo's '1 year adjustment' program. Please - let's not start another DRL disabling thread...
Just curious if other MY 08 S40/V50/C70 SS members have had any updated VADIS downloads, service bulletins or other 'corrections or additions' done.
I'm aware that my 'windows UP when top goes DOWN' annoyance is permanent.
Anything else I should know about?
Modified by tomkat73 at 10:08 AM 7-31-2009

If the Volvo dealer doesn't change the oil the 1st time doesn't that void your warranty?! That's what I've been told by Volvo...

Thanks Stealth! Who knew?!
I'll print this out and bring it with me - and ask the service writer to make sure ALL recall and or Technical Service Bulletins are addressed during my visit.

Re: (USAF 2010 T5)

USAF, I think what Volvo was referring to was this, and your warranty isn't voided but you'll have to pay for the service yourself that you missed or wait until the next interval. I would however keep all receipts for oil and filters and follow the recommended oils just in case they claim you used the wrong oil type so you have proof.
"Each recommended service must be performed within 1,500 miles of the normal service interval listed in the Warranty and Maintenance Records Information booklet. Service intervals missed by the owner will not be performed. An authorized Volvo dealer will perform the service that is appropriate for the mileage or age of the vehicle. Volvo recommends that you bring your vehicle in for service at least once a year regardless of mileage.
