I am looking to replace an 850 wagon that I recently sold. I'm looking at only 850 Wagons. Aside from the obvious performance considerations, what should I be looking for in turbo models? Are the maintenence requirements dramatically different? Also, what questions to ask the seller?

Just by virtue of their age, almost any 850 you look at will have some issues.
Look for oil around the turbo (leaks) and when you drive it you should be able to tell if it is significantly underperforming, indicating some kind of boost leak.
Other than that, look for a good maintenance history and get the car checked out by a reputable Volvo mechanic or Dealership. It's worth 1 hour's labor charge to know exactly what the car will need once you buy it and that gives you bargaining chips.

Looking at a turbo 850 is really no different then looking for any car. Just make sure that it runs well and was properly maintained. Also, Like Big Will mentioned, make sure there are no oil leaks.
