Wow, this car sure loves tires. I just replaced them about 5000 miles ago, and I can already tell some fair ware. Of course, that burnout I did about 2 weeks ago didn't help, but still, do these cars like to eat tires? I do alot of driving, about 20 - 25,000 miles a year.
Is that suggesting I need 2 new sets of tires every year?
also, what kind of tires does everyone use? I'm using Bridgestone Potenza RE730, about $120 each. They have alright performance, they're z-rated.

I have RE730's as well, and I also had to replace mine after a year, and I never did a burnout. I think the RE730's should have lower treadware then listed. I think the tire lists 300 (or above), which is very optimistic at best. The big problem with me though, is that I didn't rotate my tires.
I just can't get over the performance of these tires for the price. I'm open to suggestions though, if someone could suggest a tire that's as good as these for a similar price, let me know!!!

Honestly, these high performance street tires would be pretty much gone after once or twice of crazy burn-out.
I have been using S-02 tires...and even though they don't last too long (only rated at 120), I was still able to get more than 10K miles out of them before they were almost bald....and this is combine with some very aggressive driving.
When I just put these tires on, and did a little (I mean very brief) burn-out...after putting less than 2K miles on the tires, you could see the fronts are less than half of the tread left.
So, did you buy the tires at $111 few days ago...and now they are at $106? They should be able to credit you some money back or something, right? Hmm...so the 18 inch S-03 is only $77 more? I thought they would be much more expensive.

I've got roughly 9000 miles on my Bridestone Potenza RE71's (140 A A) and they still look good despite some occasional hard driving. If I can get another 8-10K, I'll be happy. Then it will be time for V70R AWD 16" 5-spoke wheels!

I should go buy that one at Fairfax Volvo!

Do you have any pictures of them on a 240???

The ones you showed in that pic is the 17 inch ones that they actually put them on the first year V70R. They are also using the same ones for this year's special edition C70.
The one I was talking about is the one from the 2nd year V70R, the year that they came out the kickarse blue V70R. And these are the 16s. Looks almost like the Titan, but with an R letter on one of the spokes.

Since we always drag discussions way off topic, I started a new one:
http://www.swedespeed.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/000117.html
[This message has been edited by towerymt (edited 11-13-2001).]
