I don't know, no. My guess would be that it's done in regards to fuel economy though, even though if, I'd imagine, marginal.

But if you're curious as to what you should fit on your car, use the size that's the closest to what you're running today: http://www.rullomkrets.se/ You lose a mere 24 mm in circumference on running 235s. Lots of people have been installing 245/45/18 rather than 40 profile ditos and that gives more tire sidewall though also a more hefty 73 mm longer circumference or making the speedo off by 3,75%.

No, not a typo. From the CH 181260 in 2014 it has been recommended tire size for an 18 inch wheels at least in cars that they sell in Europe. They are really installing 235/40R18 tires. See for yourself: https://youtu.be/A70FqGYMt58?t=34s
Very weird considering the S60/V60 switches from 235/40/18 to 235/45/18...

Either way I would ditch the crap OEM all seasons regardless and get snows/summers in my preferred 245/45/18 size. :)

I didn't know the SV60 series were being upped in profile... Are you sure it's not the new cross country segment of cars that's getting that treatment?

Also, you're not saying Volvo delivers cars in NA with so called all season tires? That's basically delivering a car to be driven with crap tires all year round. Sounds very un-volvo-ish to me.

Well the link references both the T5 and the T6 AWD models for the 2015.5 plan year. I also called Volvo Cars of NA and they confirmed it, but obviously they didn't know the reason why.
