I am soon to need tire replacement on my car. Currently I have 195/60 15 on it. I am contemplating 205/55 15 or 215/55 15. Quick calculations tell me the 205's ar 10mm shorter and 215's are 2.5mm taller. Any ideas?......also will they fit my stock rims? they are 15 X 6.5 I believe...Or should I not screw with things and stay stock till I upgrade (who know's when) to 16 inch???

you may be able to get the 205 55's on thoes wheels, but 6.5 inches isnt alot to play with. however my brother does have 205's on his saab 9000 CD's 6.5 by 15 inch wheels, and they fit just fine other than they buldge a lill bit over the side of the tire. the other thing you have to worry about is odomator calibration. if you differe the wheel tire size from stock that will be effected. in other words smaller tire wheel than stock = more miles clocked on your ride : (. not alot but i guess it would add up after a wile. if i were you i would upgrade to a nice 16 or 17 inch wheel and do it right!

Actually, the 205's are 10mm wider and 215 are 20mm wider. So, if you want a wider and taller tire to fill the wheelbase gap, I recommend upgrade plus 1 or plus 2.

Simply put; original 195/60/15...plus 1 should be 205/55/16. Plus 2= 215/45/17.

The tire matrix is on www.tirerack.com
