Hey, anyone out there have any recommendations for replacement tires? I have the 16" Centaurus wheels on my 2k coupe (I know most of the HP coupes came with the Canistos, but I actually like the look of mine) .
Thanks in advance
I'd vote for Michelin Pilots too, i run them all round on my Centaurus wheelrims (i prefer the look of the wheel too) and i can get an easy 10,000 miles out of the fronts and they have excellent grip. My only wish is that Michelin would do the "Energy" model in my size - i had them on my 480 and i did get better m.p.g than Pirellis.
Mich pilots are my choice.....replace the pilots with Goodyear F1 DS- G3 weak sidewall compared to the pilots, but got only 22K miles on the pilots.....i've got 15k on the goodyears and it looks like I'll get 30k miles..... rotate every 5k
For some reason, my local tire dealer only ever seems to get Pirelli P6000 in. So I have only had this tire on all my cars. They seem pretty good, but I don't know how the others are because I've never tried them.
The Pirelli P6000s are reasonably priced as well for a wide tyre. Mine are 17" though.
I have the ContiExtremeContacts. Overall for the price, i'm happy. But, they have a slight tendancy to hydro on poorly drained roads(once u feel it and the STC kicks in, ur all good). Also, can't take the corners as well as i'd like. But, for the money, they are a great tire.
It also depends on what kind of money you want to pay, I guess.
Mine are Pirelli's Nero Zero, 17 inches. They get worn less rapidely than Michelin Pilots (which are known to decay very fast), and are tremendous in comfort as well as in the rain. The trend is also quite neat: like sharks fin on the sides.
I had ContiExtremeContacts, got a sidewall puncture, and found they weren't making my 18" size! They had been, but for some reason stopped. They were back-ordered and you couldn't get one anywhere. I finally went with Avon from Tire Rack and have been very pleased. I had P6000's and found they wore fast and unevenly.
