Thanks to the wonderful people who keep our Pittsburgh streets manicured, I hit an enormous pothole last night at only about 20mph and got a flat on the front right. It didn't actually shred, but its completely flat and I'm guessing there's going to be rim damage.
Has anyone had any luck in getting a municipality to pay for damage to their car because of their lack of maintenance? I know its a long shot but its a chronic problem here. Maybe I should just make my friends pay for making me pick their drunk asses up at 2am.
I was going to buy one of those spiffy new spoilers from CFWerks too There should be an emote face for uncontrollable weeping.

If it happened in a construction area, you can most likely get them to cover the cost, but unfortunately I have never heard of a township, municipality, or city picking up the tab.

Re: Tire blowout... (Spizzy)

Your friends should offer to pony up to take care of your situation. After all, apparantly you're a team, if they can count on you to scoop them at 2am, ya know?
In Illinois, you have to show that the village/city/DOT knew about the pothole, and didn't fix it. I don't know how Penn works though.
