I know I haven't gotten my car yet but when I do I'm seriously considering tints. Only problem is it's illegal in NJ. My one buddy whose got tints say's he gets tickets all the time.
any other NJ drivers have tints that can offer their opinion would be great. Thanks

Re: Tint in NJ (corysobov)

I don't have any tint for the reason you mentioned. They aren't illegal in NJ, except for the front windshield and the driver and passenger side front windows. I think the back windows can only be tinted to 35% as well.
I also have a friend who went overboard on her car's tint and gets pulled over constantly. She now has to drive with the windows in front rolled down almost all the time in order to avoid being pulled over.
If you do decide to tint the fronts, go with something very minimal so that it doesn't draw too much attention.

Re: Tint in NJ (corysobov)

I do have 35% tint all the way around, and so far (knock on wood) i have not been pulled over for it. I have been pulled over a while back for speeding, was going 80 in a 65, and they didn't mention my tint...
also my 3 brothers have tint all around and have been fine as well, just don't make it too dark...
i think the biggest problem you will have is when you go get your car inspected they will not pass it b/c of tint, you will have to take it off...
I'm considering Huper Optik ceramic clear for the front (for UV), and 35% for the rest. http://www.huperoptik.com/Case...arine
Costs some more, but a really good product.
