[s40turbo585]

Anyone have pics of their S40 tinted with 35 front and 20 rear? I'm getting mine tinted soon and I wanted to see how it looked. thanks

Forum member volvoNB is similar, 20 F/R and 35 sides, if I recall. A picture (older, but with tints) of his car is in the gallery thread.

Excellent memory mr mullman http://********************/smile/emthup.gif. I also have a 20% 5.5" front tint ( up to 6" is allowed in Texas ). That little strip does make the interior appear a little darker. Some recent pics I posted is in this thread http://forums.swedespeed.com/z...age=2

In Texas the tint on the front windshield (eyebrow) cannot extend past the AS1 line that is etched near the sides of the glass, that may be less than six inches on many cars. FYI

True dat. But if a car does not have an AS1 line, as it is with the S40, then max is 6 inches.

I have a Barents Blue T5 with Louisiana tint, which is 50 front sides, 35 rear sides, and 20 on the back.

I actually love it... i got Diamond tint, which is semi reflective and it really looks good. The color looks very even all around, even though it's different shading . If you get 35 on all windows and 20 on the rea, it'll look great

ya I'm actually debating whether to do 20% all around, or 20% back half and 35% front as I said in the post. I like even shades all around,but I dont really want to have to deal with cops etc., and I think 35% all around would be too light since I have the light beige interior. volvonb, your car looks great! thanks to everyone else trying to take pics.... http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

i made the appt for tomorrow(sat) AM, and the place I'm taking it to only will go to 35% on the front, which is fine. So, I'm set on 35 F and 20 R. any more pics before tomorrow are appreciated! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

i've wondered that too, because all over Volvo's(besides the V50) have it. Mercedes doesn't do this to their cars now either.

Removing the factory windshield tint is a cost reduction.

That may be the correct explanation, but I have always thought it was because of the slope of the windshield combined with the relatively low roof where it meets the glass. I'm only 6'0", but when I'm sitting up straight I'm looking out of the windshield where the tint would normally be. I suspect that having the tint in front of the driver, in the line of sight, might be a bad idea.
