I was just informed by my dealer that my car has a 120K mile timing belt replacement interval while some other models of S40 have a 105K mile timing belt replacement interval. Anyone know why there's a difference?
Re: Timing Belt Replacement (Seitch)

Not sure but that is true. It depends on the year...

Re: Timing Belt Replacement (ForceFed Motorsports)

And on the engine type. The California-spec engines (shipped in many other states) have a longer service interval.
Tom.

Re: Timing Belt Replacement (Seitch)

If You have Kept Your Coolant Clean and Changed which Adds Yrs. to
the Water Pump - - which Fails and that Tears the Belts - If You have been doing a lot of Long Distance Driving - Not a Lot of Short Interval -Runs

You could likely go to 135,000 before changing , I have also seen a lot of the older style v70 and v90 go to 150,000 before changing . If You see a Little Drop of Water on the Ground and the Drip looks like Its coming from the Water Pump , Change Immediately .
