Volvo Dealer wants $100.00 more than a local Foreign car garage but I think I will pay the extra because they have all the correct tools and knowledge of the car. Is it worth the small difference to insure that things are done according to factory specs? An interference engine is no place to take chances. Dealer is 705.00 out the door which seems high since the belt kit is only about $165.00 and the labor is about 3 hours. Your thoughts?

Checked two independent shops in Sarasota area both were within $100 +- of the Clearwater dealer. Volvo Service manager gave me a coupon worth $75.00 so $630 now. I have 3 friends in the repair business but they don't work on Volvos! So, I am not going to trust a shop I don't know. BTW I have lived in Florida for over 50 years and it's not that cheap to live here nowadays. Illegals will mow your lawn cheap but good repair shops are not much cheaper than anywhere else.
