I was looking for some advice from fellow owners out there concerning my timing belt. The belt is overdue for a change and my question is, having changed a timing belt on my Honda Accord, will my 1998 V70 be more difficult than that was or basically the same? As a college student, I really don't have the $800 or so that the dealership would charge me. I would also appreciate any links or instructions to such a job as the Timing Belt and tensioner...thanks
If you have done one on a Honda Accord, you probablt possess the skill to do the Volvo as well. They are not that hard of a job.
BTW...$800 sounds like a lot, even from a dealer.
http://www.volvospeed.com/Repair/timingbelt.htm

Re: Timing Belt Change... (walter98)

Much easier, about $400 at the most, sometimes less from the right person, only a 2 hour job
