Golden Gate and Sacramento Chapters of Volvo Club of America have reserved Thunderhill Raceway, an hour North of Sacramento, for a track day on Monday April 28th.
This is an excellent chance to drive fast in a safe environment. Thunderhill is a 1.7 mile road course. No racing. Instructors available. Cost will be $150 per driver and will include four - 1/2 hour on track sessions. Cars are grouped by performance and driver ability. Come join us at the track and see if those IPD sway bars are working out for you!
Sunday April 27th will be the biggest Volvo gathering in Northern California in 2003 at Davis Central Park Pavilion in Davis CA. This will start at 10:00 AM. Huge gathering and swap meet. Admission $5 per car, $10 if you are selling parts. Over 150 cars last year.
If you are interested in participating at Thunderhill you need to be a member of Volvo Club of America and you will need to register and pay for the track day soon. We do cut registration off at around 60 cars to ensure uncrowded conditions on the track. Contact me if you are interested. You can join VCOA online at http://www.vcoa.org $30 per year.
Contact me if you are interested - Lee Cordner [email protected]
Lee

Re: Thunderhill Anyone? (L Cordner)

I'd love to drive my car this year, but not sure which car I will be taking at this point, since the 122 "ultra GT SS Si R GLT" may or may not be done in time (who knows at this point!!), and I'd hate to be stuck with the 142 since it's strength on a racetrack is the art of drifting, which scares the crap out of most people. But since it is a heavy car, drifting is the fastest way through the corners. I'll know more later.
Meanwhile, what is the cutoff for payment for the Thunderhill track day?
Thanks
-he who stacks pork

I'll be there, I'm also trying to gather some guys from VolvoSpeed, so far they are interested. But we shall see, everyone is always interested but never show at the last minute, I would like to gather as many 850's models and up, at least we can show the 240 crowd what's up
Can you make it on both days??
Lee: What about the dyno day for Saturday, is that still in the works??
Lee, talked to SVS. They are a Go for dyno day in April and the proposed date (will confirm in a week) is March 29th!
So I'm only 50 percent slacker!
Doug
