Have you noticed a significant drop in gas mileage? I used to be able to drive to work for a week on about 3/4 of a tank, and now I cant go 3 days without refilling.
Anyone else notice this?
Dan

Re: Those who have had the 158 fule line recall fixed (VelociTee5)

Hi,
Had mine done this yesterday, the fuel consumption seems the same to me (32.2MPG) - everything running as it should

I don't see how replacing a hose can affect fuel mileage. Probably the corn ethanol finally reached your gas stations, or your computer was reset for some reason.
I read somewhere they're switching to soybean. B/c it give you better gas mileage!

No issues here.
It's possible that they leaked fuel when they did your work and that's why your mileage looked odd for one tank... ?

my car has been on the rack at the dealership with the engine disassembled WAITING for 6 days now... leave it to Volvo for administering a national recall with the part on NATIONAL BACKORDER.
Pissed off= Me.
And to top it off, they knew I was going to get the Typhoon air system and they offered to install it for me. BUT I DIDNT BUY IT YET. Damn. Insult to injury.

I had the recall done about 3 weeks ago, and put about 3500 miles on.... and the MPG was lower at first but has finally come back up to almost pre-recall mpg. I did have the reflash for S-S-S done at the same time....so the ECU was relearning My driving style. But I bet it took 1500-2000 miles before the mpg started coming back up.

I haven't noticed any major drop in mpg.

Quote, originally posted by Dygitalpmp »

my car has been on the rack at the dealership with the engine disassembled WAITING for 6 days now... leave it to Volvo for administering a national recall with the part on NATIONAL BACKORDER.

Yeah, I had to wait for the part too.

If they took out the stock airbox for this without knowing you didn't have the part yet, then it sounds frustrating but it may not be their fault. Hopefully this is why the engine is taken apart... So probably the car is sitting on the rack without a working engine b/c of the Typhoon project, not because they tried to do the fuel line replacement w/o the part? Probably a mix of things, sounds like a shame.
I had my fuel line replaced a month or so ago with no issues. My mileage is up and down, but generally had nothing to do with the recall work.

taking it too litterally... not disassembled, but parts are taken off and the parts are all cluttered waiting on the part... just sitting in the garage.
And the offered to install the Typhoon b/c they new I said I was going to buy one and they felt bad for keeping me waiting on the backorder. Plus, they like me at my dealership and wanted to install it. I was just saying that I was frustrated b/c I waited on buying the Typhoon, but by doing so, I missed a chance at a free dealership instalation. Just a missed oppurtunity is all.

Re: (Johns40)

Just had some minor repairs done(rear window motor), window seals.
They did the 158 without me asking. Less window noise, and no problem with anyhting since the fix. They flashed the ECU for some upgrage and changed my oil free. They charged it all to warranty.

They did the recall for me. Then SRS light came on, fixed it. Tonight I went to drive the car, hear a loud whirrrrrr POP like an intake popping off the clamps, CEL is on and car wont accelerate for jack. -_- I dont know what the heck it could be.
