Re: Those w/Dynaudio, do u leave it set to Dolby ProLogic Surround or 3 channel? (Lotus99)
I generally hate listening to music w/ Surround. Only relatively newish music is mixed in Surround, and to my ears Surround generally muddies certain frequency bands too much. On my V50 w/ premium audio I always listened in 3ch Stereo with the center speaker turned way down.
But in this car, I have to admit, Surround sounds pretty good. I have a very slight bump on the low end and middle band and a slight cut on the high end for the front EQ, and I have Surround turned almost all the way down (3 bars up from bottom). Haven't listened to much yet (and no classical yet, which for me is generally terrible w/ Surround) but it sounds nice and full. I'm pretty impressed with the Dynaudio speakers--the XC70 w/ Dynaudio is one of the best sounding and well-balanced audio systems I've heard in a vehicle, but I'm not the thumping bass sort.
I used to be an audiophile but then life kicked in and I realized there were more important things than cryogenic interconnects. And in a car all bets are off anyway, particularly when there's a kid singing in the back seat
