Hi guys,

I'm thinking to sell my T5M and wondering what is common opinion on mods? I remember days when some senior posters routinely repeated that mods don't bring money in sale, but I don't see similar comments lately (or I just don't spend so much time here).
Of coure some modes will stay on the car like Supersprint catback (unless someone want to swap). Others - like TME ECU or e-codes can be swapped easily with stock parts.. -
So what do you think?
I forgot to mention something important - car is in good condition but the mileage ... Do two prices...modded and also w/ the mods removed...giving choices often helps the sale and gives you wiggle room.

I don't think it makes as much difference the higher the miles get (and lower the sales price), but that's just MO.
Personally on a car this old, KEEP the mods.
Your buyer is a younger buyer who would want the mods (if done properly) or a complete old fart enthusiast like me (who also would want he mods)

Both good ideas, but selling with the mods might make the difference between you getting offers that are going to make you (due to the mileage) & offers that make sense to you & a potential buyer.
A "not so senior" member who seems to make good $ off these cars/wagons might make an offer (w or w/o mods) that will make you look like this , but offers like that might just "come with the territory" when you put something up for sale here.
Good luck, whatever you decide...
Definitely keep it together. The mods represent a lot of effort and value, and will appeal to precisely the kind of young performance-oriented buyer looking for this car. OTOH, the mods won't interest the grandma-Volvo buyer, who likely wouldn't be interested anyway because it's a manual.
Keep the mods.

It depends on what price you think you would get with and without the mods. If the difference in price is greater than what you could get for selling the mods individually (assuming no labor involved in de-modding), then keep the mods on. So you need to have a realistic assessment of your car's value with and without mods, and of the mods themselves if sold individually. Most mods sell for around 50-60% of their value new, some higher than that. BTW, I'd be interested in your e-codes should you go that route.

And at the milage you wont get as much as you want .
At a certian point theres no getting back what you put in , so just drive it till its body rusts out.
Thats what I plan on doing with the V70XC-M since theres no way I will get back what I put into it . mabye if someones hard up for a car thats manual and a one off car

Well, the story made an interesting twist last night and it's inline with your comments..

As some of you might know some time ago I bought a '99 S70 ASR for my teenager (because we really wanted him begin driving on his own and a lack of time to teach him to drive a car with a manual gearbox). Time goes by quickly and kid is already more or less comfortably on the road. Even after he got a license I drove with him almost a month. As time goes by his interest in driving stick is growing So, he began makes rounds around wondering if I could give him some lessons again.
Then I got an idea.. "What if we keep T5M and sell wife's car??" Hmm. I didn't think it would fly but it did. The decision is not finalized yet but at least we are in the discussion.
I'll keep you guys updated..

I wish I could say the same for my Volvos!
Agreed w/ Chilled Man - I continue to get offers for my NA from a 'junior' tech, but the car is not for sale. I would spend those few (3-4?)thousand $ in a week or 2, and then both the $ and the car would be gone.

Re: (Chilled Man)

SO, here is a conclusion.
Wife just called from work and said she takes T5 and I should sell Camry. She drove it to work (28 miles, mostly highway) and her only complain was that an accelerator pedal is kind of tight. No wonder as I replaced the pedal and its mount few weeks ago because after 220 Kmiles it had to much play for me
