Okay so I have been giving it some thought and I might be heading back to teh Pzero's. Now I know some of you hated his tire but I actually liked/loved it. I think I actually liked them more than the Conties extrm DW's I have now.

The conti's started off as a good tire I was impressed for the money good grip great wet traction etc you all know because A lot of us switched to these over the Rosso's. Howeverafter a few months I wasnt happy with how fast they have worn and now they are FAWKING LOUD at speeds over 65-70. I mean loud its givnig me headachs. Now i know as tires wear down they get louder but hell this is a bit out of control.

So with the Rosso's I got 24 months out of them and a little over 27,000 miles. With these Conties I purchased them on April 16th 2011 and they are already at 5/32 4/32 and only 19k on them. Even when the Rosso's were down to that tread they didnt make hell any noise. So after going back to my tire guy and telling him how displeased i was he offered to give me a credit toward a new set of tires when i come in next month to get rid of these. I normally dont drive tires past 5/32's but since I Live in Nor Cal we dont get that much rain (well this year was a fluke) so i can run them to about 4 and then get rid of them.

So obviously the price. the contis i got for about 900 out the door at Americas tire. The Rossos were about 1230 OTD again and both with a 50 dollor off rebate since I am a repeat customer. Now I dont mind paying more for a good tire but before I do I wanted to see what you guys thoughts on this and if there are any good tires aside from the Conti's i dont think i will be buying these again..

Anyone else like the Rosso's

I am in the group that hated the pzeros. I'm currently running Hankook Evos and have bee quite happy with them. I'd buy them again in an instant and they are in sale at tire rack right now.

I am running the Conti DW's too and concur they get a bit noisy as they wear, I had a set of Conti DWS that were a lot quieter but I figured the DW's would provide superior handling, which they do. Since my R is my daily driver I think I will give up a little performance in order to get a quieter tire when this set is ready to be replaced

I just had a set of Toyo Extensas put on and so far they are good. $836.88 installed with road hazard included.

My experience (all 235/40/18)" on my R car:

Continental ExtremeContact DWS - Quietest tire, ever. Dry performance OK, wet/snow performance WOW.
Falken Ziex 912 - Noisiest tire, ever. Dry performance good, wet/snow performance terrible.
Hankook Ventus V12 Evo - Noise OK. Dry performance WOW, wet/snow performance terrible.

I know two of them aren't all seasons, but I'd still pick the DWS, as it gave me best bang for buck in terms of noise, performance and longevity (crazy high UTQG)

I bought a set of 18" Pegs for $500 with Pirelli's on them. Not bad tires, I got Conti DWS on my 17"s for winters. The Conti's tread life is horrible on my XC90, and the sidewalls are way too soft. For the R as winters they are nice, but I would not run them all year.

I have also had Michelin PS2's and they were awesome, but I got a tire bubble and tossed them out.

Go with the Pilot Super Sports and call it a day.
 awesome tire
No complaints with my Continental ExtremeContact DW. Some noise from the cupping caused by a caddywhompus alignment. Otherwise, they are phenomenal tires in the dry and wet. Virtually no rubbing wheel well at full lock either, except when outside front is under compression during full lock turn.

When the Continentals wear out in a year or so, my plan is to get the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport also.

I'm also eyeballing the Pilot Super Sports. The conti's in DWS and DW seem like some love and some hate. There are some other alternatives, but this is looking like the winner so far. Too bad there are no specials on um.

Wow... Two tires that should be your first and second choice aren't even mentioned:

Dunlop Z1 Star Spec and Hankook RS3 are WITHOUT QUESTION the best two tires in the dry. Not for the money, best period w/ a treadwear rating over 140.

I miss my stock tires. If and when I do tires again, they'll be Pzero Rosso's. They were quiet, had good ride quality, and amazing traction. The only downside to them is they wear quickly, but in the end, whats a few thousand miles difference?

I also agree with maxenar, the Evo's are decent all around, except in the rain. That gets a little hairy. They certainly aren't as sure as the Perelli's. And Falkens wear funny and have some road noise but have decent grip and ride quality.

One thing I learned from doing wheel and tires mods on cars this last year is just how important a tire is, and after figuring that out I'll now spend a little more to get the tire I want rather than save a little and settle. If you like the Rosso's, I say go for it.

Awesome! To add to your point, remember that everyone here have different requirements. Some may want tires that stick like a frog, but don't mind the lousy tread wear (hence $$$$$) and some may want tires that are quiet and last long, and don't really mind decent performance.

Joe do you have these tires?

Reading the reviews they look solid, people are raving about them. I wonder since tirerack is giving a 70 dollar rebate card if America's tire can do the same?
I will have them once my **** Dunlop's die. I ran PS2's on my 850 and LOVED them like no other tire. The Super Sports replace the PS2's and are a fantastic tire.

I know I cant have the best of both worlds im not looking for a tire that will last 3 years but honeslty if I i had not stopped driving the r I would have had to replace these tires in 9 months. The only reason I was able to push them another 3 months is I got a beater civic to commute to the Bay in. I just want a tire with good grip and doesnt scream when worn. The Pzero's did that lasted me 2 years and still looked good. Another thing i hated with the contis is the 40 series looked like a 50 with the beefy sidewalls lol

That's part of the reason why the contis have insane tread life - "beefy sidewalls".. :D And also the reason why I found it the quietest.
