I'm about to buy my first 850, maybe. What do you think?
1995 Turbo SEDAN 4 DR 2.3L 222hp (code 57)
Good body, no rust. No accidents. Clean title. Only 115,000miles!
Appears to have been well maintained but needs CV boots, serpintine belt. Coolant leaking at front right side of engine, (can't see where yet). There may be a coolant leak by the turbo.
Passenger window is stuck.
Asking $2000. car fax looks good.
Is this a reasonable deal?

Any special considerations I should know before buying a 850? This would be my first. (I have had several 240's).
Thanks in advance!

Modified by guidowitz at 8:48 PM 6-2-2009

It's very cheap if all it needs is about $1000 worth of work

I have decided to purchase this car!
I'm still a little bit at a loss as to the engine , but suspect it is the least powerful turbo (varient 2) that was produced for the 1995 850?

Me thinks it has no turbo.
I'm wondering what is causing the window to be "stuck".
Since you have the car, best to dive right in.
However, I'd have offered $1600.
But that is in hindsight, after paying $2750 for my Turbo three years ago.

As I said, you will be spending money on this first.
If after you get to stage 0 the car feel great, THEN talk about mods.
(Don't forget about the PCV breather box, at 90-100K it's time to replace it or look forward to poor running and some expensive oil leaks )

Good advice! I just reviewed the tech article for the breather box on mathews site and will be digging into this right away. Any advice on what parts to get? There are several options on grottons site. Thanks again!
