I just got off the phone and I'm picking up my new "R" in New Jersey next weekend! Sonic Blue/Nordkap blue/manual with sirius radio. I'll post pics when I get home with it.

Sorry....it was an S60R, and ironically enough, after I picked up the faxed invoice from my office I saw a brand new V70R, in the same color combination, 2 blocks away. Life works in strange ways because that was the first sonic blue R I have seen in person. To answer the wheels question, it has 18" pegs.

Excellent choice! That's the exact same specs I have. What color are the wheels? IAQS/climate/premium? If you don't mind, could you tell us the deal you got on it. I'd just be curious because it's the same car almost to the T as mine and I got mine one month ago. What dealership? How long was it on the lot? I did a search a few months back and could only find 3 of those cars as I wanted...Cincinnati, Colorado and Hawaii. I'm in Indy so I went with the one in Cincy plus she gave me a heck of a deal.
You're going to get a lot of compliments on that car....especially because of the color. You need some moose magnets now

Re: There's a brand new Sonic Blue "R" owner in South Carolina (soledoc)

I hear ya about the moose magnets, I will definitely need to order some. I found it in New Jersey and I'm flying up there next weekend to pick it up at Kundert Volvo in Englewood. The dealer here must not pay commissions because they didn't exactly go out of their way to help me find an R. It took 3 months, but I found the exact, specific car that I wanted, right down to the exterior color, interior color, transmission and wheels (18" bright silver pegs). It has the premium package, climate package, the 18" pegs and the now worthless Volvo on call. I'm having the dealer add a Volvo Sirius Radio; although I know I could get one alot cheaper and installed at Best Buy or Circuit City I didn't want it to look like a cheap after-market add-on. As far as the deal, I got what I consider to be a pretty good deal - not the best in the world, but good and I had very specific wants in the car and they were all met with the exception of the IAQS.
Do you have pictures of yours? Are your pegs the graphitre or the bright silver? Mine are the bright silver.

You've got the exact same car as me down to every option! Amazing! I too have the 18" silver bright pegs, premium, climate and no IAQS (which I would have wanted...but oh well). I did the aftermarket XM radio instead of paying $700 for volvo to install sirius even though mine is pre wired for sirius. I actually don't mind the look of the aftermarket XM unit in my R.
I know what you're saying about your local dealer not going out of their way to get you an R. You did the right thing by searching for exactly what you wanted. That's what I did and I'm soooo happy!
Here's the link to some pics from another thread. Enjoy your new car! I know you will. What car are you coming from?
http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=60093

Re: There's a brand new Sonic Blue "R" owner in South Carolina (soledoc)

That is pretty amazing, Soledoc. I searched the country for months looking for the perfect R and I found it. I couldn't be happier, especially since I found a way to afford a new one instead of an '04 or an '05. I figured most of the earlier year's problems have hopefully been solved, lol. I had an '01 Jetta Wolfsburg before. The Wolfie had nice suspension and drove pretty well, but didn't have anywhere near the R's power and it wasn't terribly commfortable.
