this morning I started the car and it's sputtering at 1400 idle and the car shutters and hesitates to accellerate. I shift at 4000 rpms jjust to accell with traffic. It will some times even drop while accellerating from 1900 to 1600 in stuttering and the slowly accel again. It like it has 0 power and I'm towing a trailer. I had to shift to second at 6500rpms to get it up an bridge. The car doesn't stall but sputters and hesitates in low rpm and acels like it has a 10 ton trailer behind it.<p>Any ideas, dealer isn't open till tomm, I think I'm going to have it towed home, sorry bout the spelling I'm on my iphone

I'd Pull the Plugs and Give them a Good Look , Maybe You just dropped a Coil Pack or have one on the Way Out .<p>Don't like to see Volvo's Parked on the Side of the Road or Up on a Truck<p>You Might be able to Pick Up a Coil Pack , on Sunday ?<p>If that's the Issue , I'd Wait and Order & <br>Put in the - Hotter Packs from - IPD <p>I don't Know If You can Reach them On Sunday , but You could order Parts . Plus a Local Parts House Should be able to Test any Suppected<br>Coil Pack . <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/wink.gif" BORDER="0">

some one we said maybe a boost leak? But this lacks more then boost. I'll check the coil eng tech I'll let you know if that's it. Thank you!<p>Any one else have any idea? The car is under warentee but I don't want to make it worse by driving it

It does sound like a coil pack or fouled plug... I thought these new fangled cars have a miss fire code to deal with either of these??<BR><BR>

Only other thing I can think of is if the tcv completely failed? Do you have a boost gauge hooked up to it to see how much boost its making?

First off, does it have a CEL? Second, it doesn't sound like a coil, or plug because: You would have rough idle, but at a mostly normal rpm. Also, it would smooth out the higher you revved it. Also, you would be lacking power, but not to the severity that you describe. <p>I suspect a fuel problem, possibly a sensor like Mass air flow, or oxygen sensor. If your feeling brave, unplug your MAF sensor and see if the condition improves. It will not have the throttle response you are used to, and the CEL will most certainly come on. If it does improved, than you either have an intake leak causing whats called false air (air not accounted for by the Mass air flow) or a faulty MAF altogether giving incorrect readings. <p>If you note no improvement, it could still be O2 sensor, but theres not much you can do to check that. <p>Did this problem just all of a sudden come up? No other symptoms, and its never done it before?

It sounded like to what happened to me while i was on the Bay Bridge lol. What happen to me was my intercooler hose came off and there was a massive vacuum leak... Check the hosing... Since you have no mods, i doubt that would happen.

I can see how the 02 really hurts, but don't all / most cars go to open loop at WOT??? i.e. don't look at the 02. Well maybe that was in the olddays before the LM11 wideband stuff.

there is no cell or misfire just dog slow and it idles dead smooth!?<br> this is the 1st time I've ever had a drive issue ever

I called VCNA and had it towed to the dealer, its not safe to drive in mid day traffic, this morning it barely did ok with 6am Sunday traffic.<p>VCNA set up for enterprise to meet me out there with a car till I can get one from my dealer tomorrow. I hope its nothing huge.

Well I went down with my Flasher for the C30 to the dealer to see if I could read anything. 1st time I got nothing. Second time I started the car and check engine went on.<p>The code is P0236: Turbo/Supercharger sensor read error?<p>Ever herd of it? Car def feels like it has wayyyy less then just the turbo.

My car doesn't sputter like yours, but it surges a bit under "spirited" acceleration. I kept thinking the plugs might need replacing but haven't looked at em yet.

That's what was happening to mine and changing the plugs did the trick...

Well I got the car back and they replaced the turbo solenoid and turbo boost sensor.<p>The solenoid was sticking so it was causing the low end stutter, and the boost sensor was giving reading bad on the A and B side so it was really murdered.<p>Its fixed now but the cars at 40k and im considering trading it for a Legacy 2.5gt, this car just breaks to much.
