My company offers an X-Plan to us that has basically 2% over employee price. Has anyone used a plan like this before? What was your experience? What is the best way to know I am not getting ripped off when I buy this Volvo? I am looking at the S60 AWD.
If you are unfamiliar with the plan, here are some details from the Ford limited partner web site:
Any Incentives are still available
The price quoted is "A plan price + 2%"
It's supposedly a no haggle experience
Thanks for any feedback, or suggestions on getting a good deal.

You cannot get ripped off; all you have to do is ask your Sales Consultant to show you the invoice as both the "A-plan" and the "X-plan" prices are listed on the bottom part (left side) of the invoice. It is in BLACK & WHITE!
Any cash incentives available are applicable to X-plan customers. You might have certain restriction on leasing, i.e., you cannot lease for longer than 36 months on the X-plan, etc.
Yannis

Re: (GrecianVolvo)

Does anyone know if X-Plan permits the dealer to charge an advertising fee? (Specifically, regional advertising fees.)
In general, does a regional group charge the dealer per car sold directly or some other way (e.g., flat fee.)
Thanks,

Absolutely. Thanks, Yannis.
(My contact at the dealer seems a bit unfamiliar with the x-plan.)
And if it's on some invoices, that implies that the regional group is charging per car. So I assume a car transported in from elsewhere (hard to find combo) probably gets assessed the same per-vehicle advertising fee.

The two retailers always balance out the ad fee should it be different in another area. For example, if I am getting a car from an area where the ad fee is, say, $450 that means the car I am getting (hypothetically) for you has a $450 ad fee whereas the car I am giving them has the $250 fee. He will pay me an extra $200 (since I had to pay him the $450 fee) to balance it out.
Yannis
