Ocean. That car. Best example 04 VR I have ever seen
Cheers and many thanks.

There are several VR's that I look up to as benchmarks where I want to have mine.

The next list of mods include:
☺ VolvoTech CFE
☺ IPD GROM usb/ipod audio adapter
☺ HD TCV
☺ Remove centre console and respray charcoal black
☺ Philips HID 4 DRL kit

Just got to find time to install them all.

Then I have a few more exterior mods up my sleeve..

While I had zero spare time I thought I'd buy the android app Torque and install it on to my 10.1" tablet.
As I have a Bluetooth obd2 elm327 dongle, I thought I'd give it a go.

Turns out I can do real time data logging, check signals and check/clear diagnostic codes.

All ready for action!

Available options.
Really stinks this app isn't available for iOS. Would you say the data output is worth buying an Android tablet for $200? What data points can you get from it? I was under the impression the OBD II data from the R was very limited (no boost pressure for example) but that looks to not be true in this case.

LOL, did you look at the image you just quoted above?

Sorry, I should have asked what data points are actually reliable/usable. Essentially, how accurate do they seem? I know boost is not listed in the screenshot above of what is available, but it is shown in the previous screenshots. Obviously it must be calculated or estimated from other metrics.

Today is going to another busy day for the R.

• Install a set of Philips DRL - 4.
• Remove front 4C sensors and do the RRRon adjustment mod.
• Respray centre console charcoal to remove all the scuff marks.
• Install new wiper blades to the front, rear, headlights.
• Locate AEM connection ready for the Canbus Function Extender arriving next week.
• Fix annoying squeak from rear tailgate door card.

Can't wait to see what you do with these two mods

Turn on when ignition is on.

Works well :)

Looking good. It was nice to see how they went In. I like how it updates the car. Did you do it for style or another reason ? For me I'm going to go with ecodes and my motto is only try and break one law at a time. Here DRL are required so the Phillips fit the bill.

They look good on a Electric Silver car.

Great write up. I went way more complicated with a sensing relay , since I did not want to take a chance with a message. Great job in simplifying the install

I did it for both style and safety. DRL are now common on all new cars and although I always wanted them, I bought the best you can get. No cheap stuff here.
Why Philips DRL-4? Because I looked at many other DRLs with a massive range on size, brightness and quality and these ones fitted the bill perfectly.

That's why I did mine
