Nice setup. What type screen are you using? How in the world did you get Streetdeck already? I didn't think the devloper version was out yet? How do you like it?

I am trying to do something similar with a EPIA MII1000. I've got the screen (touchscreen, vga) popping up from the dash, like the stock navi and am keeping the stock head unit. I'm going to try to do the onstar hack so that I can have optimal GPS/NAV using Iguidance. I'm also going to run Media Engine as I love the look and feel to it. Check out my thread

The screen is a Xenarc TSV.

I've been part of the Beta since StreetDeck was UbiquityV. Got the first Beta about a year ago and it is vastly improved since then but haven't used in the car yet. Hoping to be able to do an OBD-2 plugin for it for Alex Peper's OBD-2 cable.

Hope to have it in the car this weekend and get the XM/NAV etc. sorted out then start work on the plugin.

I'm interested to see your progress on the pop-up screen. Keep us updated. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Wanna buy my copy of iGuidance or do you already have it?

Awesome! I've seen the videos on streetdeck, it looks very very nice! I'd love to get a copy of it once it comes out legit and stuff.

I'll keep my post updated on my progress of the project...I'm looking for an indash monitor housing right now and its not looking too good but I've got another plan

Thanks for the offer on iguidance but I recently bought myself a copy. Have anything I might be interested in?

Question though, how much info can you get from the R and OBD? I've heard it varies from car to car and was just curious if/what all the sensored data is available. Thanks.

You might be able to mod the chassis and stuff for a G35 screen mount. The same guy who started street deck makes screen mounts for them.

You can get them here: http://www.mp3car.com/store/pr...d=116

All the standard OBD2 stuff: IAT, Fuel Trims, O2 sensor data etc. but can't get boost. You can D/L a demo off Alex's site and play around with it to get an idea of what's available. http://www.obd-2.com/

Update:

Got everything (almost) integrated and working but been struggling with the audio side of things.

The Audigy 2ZS PCMCIA isn't going to work in the new motherboard. The Via MB had a PCMCIA slot and the new one doesn't.

I tried to use a PCI->PCMCIA adapter card but the new MB doesn't properly allocate resources.

So I tried an E-MU 0404 "prosumer" card and that didn't work.

Bought a Turtle Beach Montego DDL card but their advertised 24 bit/96 KHz support is bogus. The chip supports it but their drivers/codecs don't.

Creative's X-Fi series needs an optional but not-yet-available digital I/O module to interface to my Clarion Dolby/DTS DSP's optical input. And they don't support Dolby Digital Live on-the-fly 5.1 encoding.

And then I found the Auzentech X-plosion card that has optical digital 24/96 output, DDL and is the first and only card to also support DTS Connect, and beats the X-Fi series in all but game benchmarks of EAX audio, and for less $.

Perfect and everything I want/need -- I hope. It will be here in a day or so. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Yeah this is why the VIA boards are so convenient but at the same time I can see how they don't pack the video graphics processing power needed for intense stuff. Good luck with the sound card, hopefully this one will work out. Question, what type of power supply are you using? Opus? And how many watts is it outputting?

Re: (juve021)

Update:

Found the source of the problem. iBase changed their PCI design and the Opus riser card wasn't modified to accomodate it. Lower slot has a problem.

Got the sound card but need to get a new riser to be able to use both slots. Should have the upgrade completed this weekend.

Re: (StaggRLee)

Got the new upgraded CPU installed and working with the Beta Streetdeck front end. Didn't take any screenshots but you can see much better ones than I could do here.

I love the MapPoint NAV interface with zoomable maps, 3D and birdseye views. The "gesture" interface is very nice to have as a safety feature. You just use a series of touchscreen gestures to navigate to the modules, search for albums/artists, or to input address details for NAV routing.

The XM interface is also very nice. In fact the entire program is, I'm very impressed with it.

The X-plosion sound card was pure kismet. It does almost everything I want (besides accept an optical input from my XM tuner -- I need to get their daughter-card for that) and it sounds awesome.

I can now upconvert any two-channel source to Dolby Digital or DTS encoded 5.1 and send it to my Clarion DSP (which accepts both)... and it sounds WAY better than the Dolby ProLogic II that the Clarion upconverted to. Also the card allows direct monitoring of analog input and on-the-fly encoded output to the SPDIF output(s). This card rocks for about $90 shipped (after rebate) from zipzoomfly.com.

Here it is installed:
