The battle lines have been drawn and now the teams are tasked with the tedious decision on whether they want to support the FIA or join the "rebel" teams of Ferrari, Renault, Toyota and Red Bull and boycott the series.
In the mean time, we have the prestigious Grand Prix of Monaco this weekend; always one of my favorites despite the fact that it has basically become a parade race for years now with overtaking nearly impossible. That being said, watching these guys drive within inches of the armcos at over 160mph is nothing short of hair-raising and makes for a great spectacle. Monaco GP preview here:
http://www.formula1.com/news/h....html
In other news, the rumors of Alonso wearing red overalls next year seem to be heating up. With Massa and Raikkonen contracted beyond next year, who is going to make room?
...of course this could all be for not if Ferrari actually files for divorce from Formula 1...

Is he even motivated to drive anymore? Then again, his personality is so EVEN that it's hard to tell. Iceman indeed.
Monaco is always a cool race. Qualifying at Monaco is often times better than many of the other races, simply because of the venue. Having said that, the cars overpower the circuit now.

I believe Ferrari has the strongest driver lineup out there. Kimi is finally looking.. Erm... Brisk. Im sure we all knew he still had it in him, I think maybe he gets hungrier when not in the best car, which is not that great.

Well, this should quiet some of the argument about the diffuser advantage. Clearly there is more to the Brawn than just the trick diffuser since this track is so slow and the Brawns were just in command the whole weekend.
Good race by the Fezzas, although for crying out loud didn't they get it NOT to clip the chicane? LOL.
Where the hell was everyone else? BMW not making it out of Q1? Jeebus.

FWIW, it didn't seem to offer any advantage, other than not having to crash to make the corner (ok, I guess that's a pretty major advantage ).
WRT the Brawns and their excellent mechanical grip, I dont think it has a lick of anything to do with the other tracks over the course of a season. They haven't had to focus on development in areas that nearly every other team has, so I suspect they have been working on areas other than aero downforce, because they will have an advantage their all year. It's just a great car Honda put together, that allows them to better it in various areas that will keep them head & shoulders above everyone else all season.

Why was Vettel so slow? He was on the options but so were others. He is usually quite quick.
Also nice to see Ferrari back at the top! If only they get their team tactics in order.

Yes they are. They are all putting out the same HP and revs. The motor specs are frozen and can not be touched. The days of engine tweaking and getting an edge with new designs is over. At least till the freeze is done with.

I think Jarmo was puzzled at your use of the word "homogenized," which is a term specific to milk and other liquid mixtures, instead of the word "homogeneous," which would indicate that the engines are all now pretty much all of the same kind and specifications. Remember that there are many on this board who's first language isn't English, and what to us would cause only a slight pause before understanding what you meant could cause them a lot more confusion.

I hate English, thanks for your clarification. Though I think he knew what I was talking about.
