Hej!
I recently visited the beautiful countries of Denmark and Sweden a few months ago. I rented a 'premium SUV' from a rental car company in Denmark. To my happy surprise, I was rented a Black T4 Volvo XC40. There was around 2500km on the odometer when I picked it up, and I dropped it back off with over 5000km. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. It was comfortable, roomy, smooth and fun to drive. It had the most comfortable cloth/textile seats I had ever sat in. I enjoyed it much more than leather as I didn't get hot or itchy like I do with leather seats. When I got back to the US, after sleeping off the jet lag, I called my local Volvo dealer and asked about OSD. I have known about OSD for a while, I came across it years ago, but never considered owning a Volvo before. Doing my homework, I've learned a lot about Volvo: Essentially a Toyota Transmission (8 speed from Japan!), Volvo built engine in Sweden, and some Borg Warner components in the drive-line. I was SOLD after learning that. So after conversing with my dealer, I went down and paid $3,000.00 to them and got my order submitted. Afterwards, I was told they didn't have an XC40 allocated, but, it shouldn't be long. Today I received paperwork from VolvoOSD to sign and submit (power of attorney, verifying my color, trim model etc.). I returned it earlier today and I am ecstatic about the entire process.
What I am ordering as a result: XC40 B5 AWD, Onyx Black, Dark Textile seats, no sunroof, no heated steering wheel but I did add the convenience package because I like the keyless grab the handle entry.
I'd like to put in the timeline for those that are also interested, and so you can see how my journey is comparing to yours.

I am very excited about everything. I found this website by pure chance when coming across a comment on YouTube. I look forward to keeping you updated. Please let me know any tips or anything interesting/fun you'd recommend. I'm all ears. My first Volvo experience and coming from Toyota exclusively, I am nervous but also very excited to see what happens.
Cheers
