Alright, i just got a weird, but i think great idea.
On my way to class tonight, i noticed an S70 AWD with a twin tip exhaust conversion. I stopped, checked it out and decided to write them a note about their car and my desire to start a volvo group in the area. I hope that they write or call me back.
This is where my idea was born. I am planning on starting a "volvo appreciation club" in the Denver/Boulder area, so i need some reliable way to get people's attention. I am going to print flyers, sort of like party/dance flyers, but with more taste and contact information. I plan on leaving web addresses to swedespeed, volvospeed and volvotuning. I figure on a bare minimum, i may get more people involved in performance of volvo's, and gain some more group members.
If we all did this in our respective areas, think of the jump in performance demands from volvo customers.....It would be awesome.
I know that many people will be just fine with the way their cars are stock, but others will grasp this opportunity and we'll make some friends.
Sick of wussing out, Going Hardcore.

David, if you get a couple of active users, I'd be happy to set you up your own forum section. Heck, I offered this to the VCOA, but up until now, they haven't replied.
That offer would be open though to any club with active members.
I have some Swedespeed business cards that don't have my name on it. I keep a stack in both my cars, and when I'm driving around and see a Volvo that looks as if it is enthusiast owned, I put the card in between their driver's side window and the bottom seal (don't do this on older cars as the card is liable to fall into the door), or I put it under their windshield wiper. I don't know if anyone has checked us out because of that, but I agree that I think it is worth the effort. You may want to try putting your flier up on the bulletin board at some Volvo dealerships and the local Volvo specialist repair shops in your area also. That's a good way to get grassroots clubs going.

Sure, i'd love it.
Needs to be good looking to youthful people, but at the same time, good enough to attract those people who never thought about chips, turbos, etc....
Thanks for the offer, It would be great.

David,
Have you been in touch with Justin Little? He's president of the Rocky Mtn. Chapter of VCOA and (at least what i can tell from my mailings) has been working hard to "re"establish Volvo interest in the area. THere are regular club meetings in Broomfield at Papa Franks--every 2nd wednseday of the month at 6:30pm.
He also established a link at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rockymountainvcoa/
I think he assembled a list of Volvo owners in the area by cross-checking with VCOA. He can be emailed at [email protected], or 303-832-7970.
I know they have some events coming up.. Good luck!
