Last Saturday at the beach was http://********************/smile/emthup.gif and felt like a mini-vacation.
Got out of long weekend in Niagra Falls with the in-laws, as we just don't have time to go.

Rants: Had a summer cold for the better part of the past week and felt crappy.
Don't feel like I was all that productive at work even though I was busy. Sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day!
Image

Wearing: Black ankle length pants, black & white floral print knit top with v-neck, cap sleeves...black thong, white bra, black leather flip flops with top stitching...

Have a great weekend & Happy Father's Day to all the Dads!

Rants:

Boss is STILL an idiot (how do you walk out of the office and say "I have to step out, I'm not sure if I'll be back?
Image
)

Going to have to spring the news on our families next week that we're moving to VA.

Moving to VA is going to be official as of next week, which means a hellaciously fast process of relocating including house searches, listing and showing our house, ugh.
Image

Back from a week long vacation to one of the most hellacious weeks of the year...quarterly budget updates.

Raves

My son made me a "You are the greatest Dad" t-shirt with handprints.
Image

The move will be official as of next week so I can finally start telling everyone and getting my life together.

My boss will be my boss for no more than 3 more months, probably less!

My wife is back from her business trip last night. Yay!

Driveway was seal-coated yesterday.

Last week on vacation, we stumbled across the Dogfish Head Brewing and Eats pub in Rebhoboth Beach. Excellent, I love DFH Ale!! Got to try several cool brews, including "Midas Touch", which is somewhere between a beer, wine and mead. Most excellent.

Back in the grocery store this past Sunday I found out that they had Midas Touch!!!!!!

Bought two four packs (for $13 each!). Good stuff not cheap! Hey, it's father's day, though.

Wearing: Orange polo, jeans, Keen casual shoes and, uh, underwear.

6000 plus houses in the Loudoun County area alone, I don't think you are going to have a hard time finding a house down here!

We have two of their restaurants down here, one in MD and one in Va(Fallschurch area).

For PA residents, you just hit on a Rant and a Rave. Rant that we cant buy beer in grocery stores. Rave that after how many years now of not being able to buy beer in grocery stores, they have just allowed 2 Wegmans and one other grocery store (Weis?) to do a trial run of selling beer. What will the Commonwealth of PA think of next? Following the rulings of the US Supreme Court? Yeah, thats still a ways off.

I'm low on rants today.

Raves:
Thank you for finding what I think is the best all around domestic brewer in the U.S.!
Dogfishhead has a tremendous catalog of beers.
- Midas touch is quite a good beer. I like the honey taste with the spice notes (saffron from what I recall). Do you know the story behind the formulation? It's quite neat how they came up with the recipe and why they call it King Midas.
- My favorite is still 90 minute in quantities over 4. The 120 minute in quantities under 4 (because the alcohol content is over 20% not too bright to drink it in quantity).

As for PA beer laws...they are extremely antiquated. The "you can only buy it by the case" law is a throwback to prohibition days from what I understand.

I like Duvel as much as the next person but I don't need a case of it each time. The alternative is a specialty store like the Foodery in Philly that has a vast selection and you can buy one bottle at a time. I believe they are licensed as a bar to take advantage of the loophole.

I did read a bit of the story of the "Midas name", but not all the details.

I have been drinking DFH for a while, but not regularlly and I did not realize that they were in Delaware. And also did not realize that they had a brewpub! We were tired and cranky and needed to eat without having to drive 45 minutes back to the house we were staying at. Luckily the POI listing in the MDX is superb!!!

Re: (baxteR)

Rants:
-not enough time to get anything done outside of work and spend time with family (R is clean but hasn't had a detail in forever)

Raves:
-2 year old son is a trip, terrible twos not all that bad
-grass isn't growing as fast as it was 2 weeks ago

#25 ·
Rants:
R is dirty
Weather is lousy (hence the dirty car)
I don't feel like working

Raves:
Weather should be improving
Father's Day weekend should be fun and relaxing
There will be time to wash the R

SteveP - unless you want to save the tub, cast iron is brittle and a solid stroke from a hammer (sledge) will reduce it to many small (and therefore light) pieces. I speak from back-breaking experience on this one.
