Sorry if it's been covered, but I'm considering an 06-07 GT, and I see quite a few of them on this forum with tuned engines. I remember reading that the TFSC80 is rated to ~330ft-lbs, but I can't find any posts here about failures. I know there are people running more torque than that through them, any major issues?
Seems like this would be covered already but I have searched and found very little. You guys feel OK modifying to 300+ whp with this auto trans? Stronger collar/bevel gears aside.
I know, I SHOULD get a dang MT. That's a different thread

Re: TFSC80 durability (braincramp)

I think many of the issues that have been reported here have been on stock transmissions.
They are far from fault free, regardless of torque. Issues have included rough shifts and neutral hang-ups. And these include units that have the updated valve solenoid replacement.

Re: TFSC80 durability (Needsdecaf)

I see, thanks. I was thinking it must be pretty bulletproof since I couldn't find anything. Probably just need to run a more thorough search...
