Hi guys and gals, I know we've been talking about this for a little bit but I have organized a Texas Volvo GTG. Roger Beasley Volvo of Georgetown will be hosting the event along with great sponsorship from IPD and Heico. Thanks to all of the sponsors for their support for us Volvo fanatics!

***35 attendees, 24 shirts ordered, lots of software downloads, great sponsors and a whole lot of fun!***

Here are the details:

Activities included:

•Roger Beasley will have some giveaways such as Volvo accessories donated for raffle such as hats, shirts, Volvo accessories, etc (just spoke with the GM and they will be donating $500 worth of items for raffles!!!)
•Roger Beasley is offering software downloads for our car at the cost of Volvo download with NO LABOR CHARGE!!!*
(Vadis/Vida options like flashing lights, seat heaters etc at reduced cost)
•Roger Beasley will have available demos and test drives for pre-determined R models, C70's and other models for future buyers**
•Roger Beasley will provide lunch from Rudy's BBQ
•Roger Beasley will sales folks on hand that are very knowledgeable about the R in general for future R owners
•Roger Beasley will have a master tech in attendance for technical questions and accessibility to the lift
•IPD will be donating give aways and literature
•Heico will be donating even more give aways and literature

I can't attend.
I let a friend of mine know about though, he will likely be there.

I had until June 3rd. Out of state for work the rest of summer after that.

i was going to say...
the dealer should provide these downloads for FREE that day. after all, it requires no external materials, just a simple plug-n-play download.

we R volvo enthusiasts, not just a regular consumer...remind them of that

Well considering they are going to provide lunch, have giveaways and also provide free labor I think it's a good thing. It's more than a LOT of dealers would do. I'm just thankful that they agreed to all of my requests and that they are going to staff up a bit for our event.

Well guys I've only had THREE swedespeeders say that they are coming. Is this all? Would the following week June 24th be any better?

Sorry but it wouldn't be worth it to have the dealership go to all of the trouble.

Well from someone who has hosted several gtg's (not Volvo) I can tell you, there will always be lurkers and last minuters that show up with no prior notification. I've seen where 12-15 cars were expected and instead
42 rolled in!!

But that was a good thing.

Keep that in mind.

Also,
I might be able to stick around the area long enough to make it but the R will be gone in transit. so for rsvp, I'll give you a if it all possible I'll be there, even if I have to roll up in a frineds, ..gulp

I'm concerned about the shirts. I have to have a minimum for them to be even made. I really would love for everyone to be able to have one but I can't afford to front the money if people aren't going to buy em' in advance. Thus far I have four shirt orders http://********************/smile/emthdown.gif

I plan on being there if at all possible. I am currently off on the 17th and if I remain off I will be there. I will also purchase a shirt either way and plan on sending the money via Paypal tomorrow or Sunday at the latest, waiting to see if my wife wants one also. I don't anticipate having to work on the 17th but occasionally things change in the airline business. I'll let you know about the shirts by Sunday night at the latest. Thanks for all of the work.

Not a problem guys. I'm just trying to make sure that there's going to be enough door prizes, enough food and enough shirts. I don't want to leave anyone out but then again I don't want to over expect and then be stuck with 20 extra shirts.
