So I loved the sheer power and how the cadillac drives but the interior was garbage!!!
anywho, brake pads are simple cake work in this car, I love it!! haha I even cleaned my rims up a bit because they were DIRTYYY from the semi metallic pads that were on there before. I went with AXXIS pads from Z-racing.com and they ended up costing me around 61 dollars for both sides of my front! Not to bad considering other(more costly) options.
The brakes are organic/ceramic compound and seem to be doing good, havent driven too much but I dont have any squeeking from my brakes right now, for the first time in months!!
To bad on the way to work this morning I got TWO messages, one saying that I have anti skid service required and the other stating that I have my chassis settings currently disabled,
Does anyone know what/where I have to start to fix those problems? I need an alignment, would that throw it off that badly??
Thanks in advance,
Colin

Re: test drove a 2004 cadillac CTS-V, changed front pads and display messages... (racecarcolin)

When I took off my brake pads last time and put them back on I got the same anti-skid service message. After restarting the car it went away.
I regards to the 4c message- maybe one of the shock connectors were not disconnected when you did the brake service? It is just funny at it came on right after.

Somehow while changing the brakes you fouled up one of the wheel speed sensors.
Those are the common messages for that sensor gone bad.
Pull your wheels and see if you can re-seat any connectors, otherwise to the dealer you go.

EXACT SAME TWO MESSAGES I HAVE RIGHT NOW....mine came about in different circumstances though....
I am replacing my front struts/shocks and some other suspension components (as the shocks are totally shot and riding like crap
once the parts come in and i get them on im off to the dealer for a SUM inspection/reset and to determine the issue with the anti skid (which btw has deactived my AWD, because that one came on later and since AWD doesnt work....ugh)

Or it cauld be the orther wires thats actule on the strut. like the one that come from the bottome or the box rt nest to the sway bar link.. either way you did somthing rong ad it can get expecve to fix
