Recently replaced timing belt and tensioners and I'm a bit unsure on the TB tensioner.

For some reason I couldn't turn the needle with the 6mm hex wrench. To the point I stripped the hex hole.

Tension on the belt seems fine and after rotating the crank everything lines up and no extra resistance.

I'm going to go ahead and replace the tensioner again (thanks FCPeuro), but what should I do to ensure this doesnt happen again? Should just be center bolt for tensioner set at 24nm then set the tensioner according to temp, right? I'm still a bit confused as to why I couldn't set it correctly.

You don't torque the center bolt fully until you have it adjusted. So adjust it and then torque the center bolt while holding the hex still.
