I was looking at an S40 today. I noticed temperature control increased/decreased in 2 degree increments. Is there a way to make it change in 1 degree increments instead?
Thanks!
It's nowhere near accurate enough for you to tell the difference between your 80F or 81F anyway.
Those of us with the metric car get 1-degree stops between 18 and 30 celcius, and I'd still be hard pressed to be able to feel the difference between 21 or 22 or whatever.

Re: Temperature control question - 2 degree increment (treacherous)

I wish the control had 1 degreen increment too. I've been in other cars where they had 0.5 increments.
Nuh, 1C does the job, I even find myself changing settings by at least 2 degrees when I want it adjusted. IMO 1C is too fine to notice a difference

Re: Temperature control question - 2 degree increment (treacherous)

One of the reason’s we are thinking about an S40 is because of the completely counter intuitive uncomfortable climate control system in our Audi A4. This 2 degree increment business doesn’t bode well for the one in the Volvo. We haven’t actually test driven one yet. We are waiting for a real hot day, sometime after the 2007s arrive, to see how efficiently the climate control system handles hot weather. The car being from Sweden, we are pretty sure that the heater works well.

Both heater and AC work well, rest assured

Tho I DO notice 1C degree difference on long road trips where you don't open the doors/windows for a long period of time.

Find I have to increase mine 2c particularly at the moment when its hot here in the UK.
I have found 21c too cold on 'auto' so longer journeys it on 23c, compared to my golf where 21c was just so.
