Tease of What's to Come!

These are some teaser pics of things that I am currently working on. First, front mount. My friend was trading in his B5 A4, and he told me that if I did the work to remove it, I could have it for no charge! A got a stock A4 IC from another buddy, and it worked out great! My plans? I was going to paint the EVOLVE logo in black on the IC, I thought that would look badass! I'm going to have to figure out how to custom fab the hosing, since i'm NOT spending $700 on a piping kit from phuz, nothing against him, I think he does great work, I just don't think that it's reasonable for me to spend that kind of money.

Second, S60R bumper! Picked it up last weekend, and it's currently in my door room pissing off my roomate. I just ordered the grille from a guy on this forum. I need to get it painted silver and get it fitted!

I am not sure of the direction I want to go though. I was thinking about getting the full S60R sport kit (have 1 winglet already), and have QUAD-EXHAUST out the rear, which would just look insane. But I'm not sure yet. I think i'm going to keep the moldings, because I like the contrast of the moldings with the S60R bumper.

Anyway, here are some pics. Let me hear what you guys think, and any suggestions. School is almost out for the semester, in about 2-3weeks, so that's when these huge changes are going to undergo.

Thanks!

As there is another member contemplating tackling the IC piping project, I will wish you luck as well!

There is a reason so few have done it. In theory, it seems like it would be easy, but routing IC piping on a Volvo requires a lot of twists and turns.

Maybe there is a shop out there that can do it for a NON ridiculous price?
Re: Tease of What's to Come! (cmurphy2266)

I dunno, it all looks like a big hassle to Me, maybe you would be better off just selling everything to me for cheap and saving yourself the aggravation

Just trying to be helpful

go with phuz on the piping, I have searched and it's the way to go, by the way GiRaff3 is speaking of me when he said "another member contemplating".
do you have welding skills? If you do, it should definitely doable to fit the piping.
I'm going to take a look at all the piping and whatnot, and see what I can do. I am at school so working on my car is a pita, but i'll update you guys as the work goes along.

look, im going to lay it out. this is the difference between old school volvo people and new school.

new school, spend $700 for damned piping for an IC that should be $400 max.

old school, spend $650-700 on a stainless work of art(exhaust manifold for redblocks).

i guess that is the difference of having a middle man since phuz still has to make it worth while after paying his "fabricator" also.

some people do it for the glory, some people do it for the love, and some just do it for the money.. cant blame em', but damn dont we hate it

I agree, I was thinking about just taking the easy route and buying the phuz kit, but in the end, I'd probably feel much better knowing I did all the custom work to get it installed. It'lll be hard, but I'll post pictures along the way.

I was thinking of doing this myself while I was over in Germany because I had access to everything I needed. I ended up putting it off for too long and came back to the states.

I have rustled plenty of feathers during my time as a Volvo owner, and sometimes it needs to be done! When it comes to IC piping though, it is truly a huge task, even through it SEEMS simple enough.

I have said it a few times over the last couple of days, and I will say it again: Good luck and share pics if you can make it happen!

Think of it this way...is the time it takes a person to accomplish something for less money, but more effort/hassle/pain/bloody knuckles required, worth it?

I am young enough to fight "the man", to break the mold, but also old enough to know when spending money will make my life much, much better http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Exactly - its not an old school versus new school thing. Its a young guy versus old guy thing!

I simply dont have the time to do my own fabrication any more.

Are you running other Evolve items that you want to match? I'm just curious why you'd throw an Evolve logo on an Audi part, especially given the venom usually reserved for Evolve in these parts. I have no issues with running the S4 IC, though -- it has to be higher flow than stock!

The rest of your ideas (R bumper, quad exhaust) sound nice!

It's not an Audi intercooler...It was just on an A4. I needed a stock one to replace the front mount he was running. It's made by X02 racing.

I don't have any EVOLVE products, I just think the logo looks really cool in the mouth of the bumper.

I agree with you, that EVOLVE logo would look so sick!

Yeah, I was thinking about Hieco or iPd, but I have always liked the vinyl decal on the back/front of the EVOLVE cars.

Plus, i really didn't understand this sentence.

Forget 'EVOLVE'.

Do 'CMURPH'.

haha way better

haha, yeah, i'm not sure about that one.
Check out salvage yards around Mass and try to find my totaled s60 form a couple months ago. You can probably use the side skirts, rear apron, and trunk spoiler.
