Actually after first I was thinking about answer each one of your questions seriously, then I realized..."Why bother? He's probably not even sure about anything else beside the fact of swapping turbo for just the sake of swapping turbo..."
There are so many other aspects you would need to look into when consider such upgrade.
Do you know the limit of your motor? What is the limit of your budget? How much gain are you hoping to achieve? Are you prepare to face the problems of pushing more power? And many other issues will raise along with the search for more power.
Why do you think your current turbo is not good enough. What other upgrades have you done so far to lead you thinking you need to upgrade your turbo? Getting a turbo is not expensive at all, getting a good turbo and make it work with your car without breaking other parts and still manage to maintain a civil daily driving machine is an art.
When you have $10K spare change and ready for the commitment, then that will be the time to ask your question again.
I'm not even sorry that if I sound like an a$$, I've just been to too much crap with my project to sit here read someone naively thinks he can just pop in a turbo and be set to rock. Plus, I've actually wrote up few reviews about my upgrades..and no one seems to care, so I might sound just a bit bitter.
All in all, don't do the turbo upgrade just yet. If you want to make a wild hot rod outta your Volvo, it's not worth it, unless you think it is. These cars were never built to handle any sort of extreme power.
You would have better luck, result, and save more money by doing a turbo upgrade on an E36 M3.
